Who Lea Bank is as a lender
Lea Bank is a foreign bank whose product we track: consumer loan. We have not found the company in the Finanssivalvonta register of supervised entities for this product group, so check its registration before signing anything. The products are for private individuals.
In our comparison Lea Bank belongs to the banks group. The grouping has no commercial meaning: we separate banks from other lenders because their regulation, funding and pricing differ. The full list is on the all lenders page.
Lea Bank in numbers
The table summarises every Lea Bank product we track. The rate is the figure the lender itself publishes (data as of 07/10/2026). If the lender publishes no figure we write “negotiable / not published” and do not guess. For reference-rate loans the total rate is today’s Euribor plus the bank’s margin; the method is described on the methodology page.

| Consumer loan | 12.67% | – | 1,000 € – 50,000 € | up to 15 y |

Lea Bank in the market
A price means little without a reference point, so for every product we compute the lowest, median and highest published rate in the same category. It is a snapshot, not a recommendation: the lender’s final rate depends on the applicant.
Consumer loan: Lea Bank
The published rate from Lea Bank is 12.67%, 3.90% points above the median. The category has 16 published rates ranging 5.71% – 15.00%, median 8.77%. Ranked from cheapest to most expensive, Lea Bank is 14 of 16. Full category comparison: consumer loan. Lender note: Tilinhoitopalkkio 12 €/kk; esimerkki 10 000 € / 5 v, nimelliskorko 12,67 %, TVK 16,06 %.
Who can apply
The lender decides who gets credit. We do not process applications, so this is a general picture of what banks typically check. The exact terms are on Lea Bank’s own pages.
Age and income
According to our data the age limits are 18–75 years. For consumer credit the applicant must be of age, and the lender looks at income and expenses. The lender must assess the applicant’s ability to repay before granting credit, so high income alone does not suffice if there is already a lot of debt.
Credit record and the positive credit register
Lenders check credit information and, for consumer credit, the positive credit register that came into use on 1 April 2024 (Finnish Tax Administration). The register shows existing loans and the data needed for the affordability assessment, so several small credits also weigh on the decision. A payment default entry almost always makes borrowing harder; Lea Bank’s own conditions are on its site.
Collateral and guarantors
According to our data the Lea Bank products we track are not secured. Secured credit usually has a lower rate, but the collateral can be lost if payments are missed. Unsecured credit does not put assets at risk, but the rate is often higher.
How credit is compared
- Decide the amount and term and calculate the monthly payment in the calculator.
- Compare the annual percentage rate (APR), not only the nominal rate: APR includes the opening fee and monthly fees.
- See whether the rate is published or negotiable and compare it with other products in the category (consumer loan).
- Check the terms, pre-contract information and representative example on the lender’s own page.
- Apply directly with the lender. Haeluotto does not process applications or make decisions.
Pros and cons
Advantages
- The rate is published for all of the products we track, so the price can be compared before applying.
- A bank may already know you as a customer, which can ease the application and sometimes affect the price.
- Some products are unsecured, so you do not pledge assets.
Drawbacks and limits
- The published rate is a starting point; your own rate can be higher based on credit record and ability to repay.
If the application is rejected
A refusal does not mean every other lender will refuse, but a burst of applications does not help. Ask the lender for the reasons, check your own credit record and the positive register, and consider whether a smaller amount or a longer term is realistic. Do not apply for several credits at once just because one was declined: each application may show in your credit record. If you already have payment difficulties, contact debt counselling before taking new credit. Alternatives are on the lender list and in consumer loan.
Supervision and regulation
Lea Bank offers its services to Finland across the border from abroad. Supervision rests primarily with the home-country authority; the Finanssivalvonta register shows how the company is notified in Finland. According to our data: Ulkomainen luottolaitos, palvelee rajat ylittävästi (EU-passi).
The price of consumer credit is limited by law: the interest rate may be at most the reference rate plus 15 percentage points and the agreed rate at most 20 percent, and other credit costs at most 0.01 percent of the credit amount per day and at most EUR 150 per year (Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority). A consumer has a 14-day right of withdrawal and may repay early. The consumer-credit rate caps do not apply to business loans. More information: Finanssivalvonta and the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.
Cost of credit and how to compare it
The interest rate is only part of the price. In consumer credit the price can include an opening fee, a monthly account or invoicing fee and possible reminder or late-payment fees. These must be stated in the lender’s pre-contract information, and the total cost is combined into the annual percentage rate (APR). On a small amount over a short term, fixed monthly fees can multiply the APR relative to the nominal rate, which is why APR matters more than the interest rate for quick loans and small credits. On large, long loans Euribor and the margin weigh more than one-off fees.
What to ask about Lea Bank’s price
- Is there an opening fee or an account fee, and how many euros are they?
- How does the rate change if the reference rate changes, and how often is it reviewed?
- Can the loan be repaid early, and do the terms charge for it?
- What is the total cost of the loan over the whole term in euros?
Illustrative monthly payment calculation
The table shows what the monthly payment would be at the lowest rate Lea Bank publishes (12.67%) on its consumer loan product. It is an annuity calculation without an opening fee or monthly fees, not an offer from the lender or its representative example; the real price depends on the applicant and the contract costs.
| Amount | Term | Monthly payment | Total interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 € | 3 y | 168 € | 1,036 € |
| 10,000 € | 5 y | 226 € | 3,551 € |
| 15,000 € | 5 y | 339 € | 5,326 € |

Rate risk and your safety margin
On a Euribor-linked loan the monthly payment moves with the reference rate, and a rise hits the household budget directly. It is worth checking whether your finances cope if the rate is two percentage points higher; the Euribor sensitivity calculator shows the effect in euros. On a fixed-rate loan the payment stays the same, but the fixed rate is often slightly higher at the start and ties you to the terms. Also keep a safety margin: credit should not be taken so that all free money goes to repayments.
If you run into payment difficulties, contact the lender early: many offer a payment plan or a repayment holiday, and debt counselling helps free of charge. To follow rate changes and market direction use the market watch and the market report.
Checklist before signing
- Read the pre-contract information and the credit agreement in full, including the small print.
- Compare the APR and the total cost in euros, not only the monthly payment.
- Make sure the lender is registered or supervised (Finanssivalvonta register).
- Remember the 14-day right of withdrawal on consumer credit.
- Do not borrow for consumption that you could only repay with new credit.
- Ask debt counselling for advice if you are unsure about your ability to repay.
More background on loan types: consumer loan, and how our comparison works.
Complaints and dispute resolution
If a disagreement arises with Lea Bank, for example about an invoice, the rate or a contract term, start by contacting the lender’s customer service in writing and keep the messages. A written complaint clarifies what was agreed and when the matter was raised. If it is not resolved you can ask for guidance from consumer advice; for consumer credit the dispute can be taken to the Consumer Disputes Board, and in banking and financing matters to FINE. A business customer should check which dispute resolution the contract refers to.
What to keep
Save the pre-contract information, the credit agreement, account statements and every message about the cost of the loan. Take a screenshot of the price on the lender’s page at the time of applying: pages change, and Haeluotto only shows the situation at the update time (07/10/2026).
Recognising scams and suspicious offers
The loan market has offers that look like Lea Bank but are not. Beware of situations where an advance payment, a “security fee” or a “processing fee” is demanded before the money is in your account: this is a typical sign of fraud. Also beware of contacts that offer credit with no assessment of ability to repay, or that ask for online-banking credentials by phone or message. Always use the lender’s own, known web address and check the company in the Finanssivalvonta register. Haeluotto never asks you for credentials, payments or credit data.
What the Lea Bank data says and what it does not
The published rate and product data tell you what Lea Bank is willing to promise before an application. They do not tell you what offer you would receive, how customer service works, how fast a decision is made or what experiences others have had. We do not publish customer reviews or star ratings, and we do not show figures that the lender has not published. So treat the comparison as a starting point: once you have two or three candidates, ask each for its own pre-contract information and compare them side by side. Price differences can be small, and even a small difference in the rate compounds over a long term.

Where the data comes from and how fresh it is
All Lea Bank figures are collected automatically from the lender’s own public pages and checked every night. If a page does not respond or a figure disappears we keep the previous value and do not replace it with a guess; if the lender changes its rate the change is logged in the market watch. Status 07/10/2026. You can verify any figure on the lender’s page via the link below. If you spot an error, tell us using the contact details on the about page and we will correct it.
We receive no payment for a lender appearing in the comparison, and we do not change figures at a lender’s request. If a lender wants to correct a wrong figure we correct it from the source once the change is visible on its public page. The same applies when a product disappears: once it can no longer be found on the lender’s page it leaves the comparison and does not stay up as outdated information.
