Privacy policy

Updated 7 October 2026. This notice describes what personal data Haeluotto.fi processes under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Controller

2. What data we process

• Server logs. The web server records technically necessary data such as the IP address, time, requested page and browser identifier for security and to investigate problems. Logs are kept in line with the hosting provider’s practice.
• Emails. If you contact us we process your message and email address in order to reply. We keep the message as long as handling the matter requires, and for at most two years after the last message.
• Calculators. The figures you enter in the loan calculator are processed only in your browser and are not sent to our server.
• Weekly digest. If you subscribe to the weekly digest we store your email address, the loan types you choose, the language and the confirmation time. The address is verified by email (double opt-in). The data is used only to send the digest and is removed or marked cancelled when you unsubscribe using the link in every message. We keep a cancelled address for at most 12 months so that we can prevent re-sending. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

3. Cookies and third-party services

We do not set our own cookies and do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Links to lenders’ sites open a third-party service with its own privacy policy.

4. Legal basis

Processing of logs and emails rests on legitimate interest: the security of the service and answering enquiries (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

5. Disclosure

We do not sell personal data or disclose it for marketing purposes. The hosting provider processes data on our behalf.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, request its correction or deletion and object to processing. Requests: info@haeluotto.fi. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
